Sports Turf Limited (Nick and his team) started maintaining our 12 grass courts and grounds in March 2022, Surbiton Racket and Fitness Club is home of the Surbiton Trophy which is an international professional grass tennis tournament and a highly regarded tournament on the challenger circuit, with it being the opening grass court event of the grass court playing season, in return it always attracts a high calibre of top players.
Nicks team are full time at the club and he provides a large grounds team of 12 additional staff to manage the Surbiton Trophy, both setting up the event and managing the grass courts and overall grounds throughout the tournament, this is highly demanding event at the highest of levels which puts a Huge pressure on nick and his team, with inflatable covers, and centre court is televised live on BBC, the grass courts have to be at the very highest level of fine turf surfaces to accommodate the standard of tennis throughout the tournament, with a tight budget and really tough conditions compared to other more elite venues, but the same demands on quality of courts and playing surfaces, Nick and his team deliver the event and playing surface at the highest level with amazing gratitude and professionalism throughout the setup, tournament week and de rig. They consistently deliver in a professional environment at the very highest level with demanding conditions, and we are grateful for their work and what they achieve.
I have been very happy with Nick and his teams professional and dedicated approach to our club, and his knowledge and expertise is invaluable, and especially his approach and management of the Surbiton Trophy as this demands the very best to be able to deliver at the highest level on a big tennis stage such as this tournament.
We are delighted to have Sports Turf Limited as our team looking after our grounds, and we look forward to working with them on a long-term basis.

Nick and his team did an excellent job when they undertook the end of season renovation works on our cricket square, from deep scarifying, seeding and top dressing everything was carried out very professionally, and the square is now looking in top condition (early November). Communication was very good, and we were never left wondering when the work was going to start, we will defiantly use them again, they are a huge step above previous contractors we have used.

Over the last seven years, Nick and their team have done a great job in managing our ground services requirements. The quality of the cricket square and the outfield at Ashley Park have continued to improve under Nick’s expert guidance and we are now looking for Sports Turf to apply the same commitment and expertise to a new facility that will soon become a second ground. The attitude is always positive, and Nick combines a willingness to sort problems with advice and suggestions on how to best manage situations going forward. Sports Turf Limited have been providing us with several services since early 2019. Initially this ranged from spraying applications both grass and hard surfaces and work on our grass football pitch (Aeration, Feeding, scarifying, top dressing and seeding).
Only specific companies can work for our company as we have very strict health and safety policies and a strong vetting process to become one of our approved contractors on our internal system, so its testament to their company quality that they are approved to work at our sites, They have now become our main outdoor contractor, after we removed our grounds person role, they now provide the following services, mowing and strimming all grassed areas when required on an annual contract, any general Maintenance like paving and fence repair, equipment servicing and repair when required and any other work we might need. They even built a large shed for disability cycles and project planned and completed the groundworks for the relocation of our hammer cage throwing area to remove the wear from our football pitch.
During this time, we have worked closely with Nick and the team to improve our sites income on the grass pitch and general improvements to the site’s appearance.
We would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable quality contractor.

Nick (Sports Turf Limited) has become our main contractor for all Tractor spraying applications at our sports grounds over the last 3 years, we are also a sports maintenance contractor and where looking for a reliable company to take on our pre-season and during season spraying applications of our sports grounds, Nick now sprays 4 of our grounds twice per year , which consist of a preseason weed and feed application and a worm and iron treatment moving into winter, he is reliable and the results are fantastic, he uses a very modern sprayer and is much better value for money and most importantly the quality of the results are superior compared to other spraying contractors we have tried. I could not recommend sports turf limited enough.

Sports Turf Limited (Nick) has taken on our spraying works for both our Reeds School sports grounds and our Ripley Court school sports ground.
Sports Turf Ltd spray our Reeds School sports fields (6 hectares) twice per year and also Ripley court school twice per year (3.6 hectares), we use a mixture of weedkiller, wetting agent, bio stimulants and worm suppressant to match our yearly maintenance schedule we have in place for both sites, Nick is punctual and always very accommodating around busy school schedules as we often have to change initial booked dates for the works due to changing fixture schedules and poor weather conditions, and he always accommodates any changes and delivers on time within the small timeframes and the tight windows we demand. He is professional and has great communication and provides modern equipment to complete the works, I could not recommend his services more highly.

Sports Turf Limited were taken on after we had been let down by another contractor, they came highly recommended from within our company contractor profile from other leisure venues they maintain for our company, our company has strict health & safety and vetting procedures to pass before contractors can become enrolled / authorised as a contractor on our internal system.
Excel leisure centre is a large site offering athletics, hammer throwing, shot put, discus, javelin on the grass as well as an al weather full size athletics track, on top of that we offer football for the local football club (Walton and Hersham) both grass pitches and then on our 4g pitches, there is a massive layout of different pitches on the grass and 4g pitches ranging from 5 aside to 11 aside, all ages and a very complicated marking programme which includes all ages and 4 different colours for marking. Sports Turf Limited have been professional and accommodating with their approach, Nicks superior knowledge and experience dealing with multi sports surfaces and venues has been invaluable, his teams professional approach has been outstanding and the difference in the service and the quality of the pitches within two months has been astonishing, There Robot line marker they use has been amazing, and we cannot believe the difference in quality, we could not recommend there services enough, very professional and an outstanding team.

Here are Battersea we have a multi sports venue, this offers football and rugby over the winter months and then becomes a cricket ground for the summer months, we had a previous contractor that really let us down and we spoke with many other venues for recommendations, and Nick and his team came highly recommended from within the sporting circle, over the winter the grounds become heavily warn out and there is a very large renovation required at the end of the rugby/football season to get the outfield up to a playable standard for the cricket. Nick has come up with a very comprehensive maintenance package for a year’s maintenance including the large renovation moving into cricket season, he provides a very detailed contract for both parties and sticks to all the elements delivering the required elements (works) within the contract on time, Nick has a great team and has really good equipment for his maintenance and renovations. We are on to their second season working with us and the grounds have really improved for all the sports, they are a very reliable and hard-working company with a great company ethos, we could not recommend them more highly.

We started our working relationship with Nick some 8 years ago and it’s been a pleasure to work with him, when we began our partnership our pitch was not in great shape and it took a very comprehensive year by year plan to improve the surface, first steps recommended where a high pressured irrigation system which nick sourced and helped install, this was then further upgraded to a self-travelling system In year two, this was the start of the huge improvements that nick and his team made, with his high quality machinery and a very comprehensive maintenance package, after a renovation, our pitch soon developed from being one of the worst in the league to being one of the best in the league, the transformation was incredible, his knowledge on the grass plant, advice he provides, and detail he delivers his work is impeccable, and we have been privileged to have him looking after our pitches at Cobham FC ( both main pitch and juniors.).
Sports Turf Limited started maintaining our training facility in April 2024 and have been a massive improvement on our previous contractor, initially carrying out a large renovation to all the surfaces at our training ground, They have helped us push forward with plans for an irrigation system using contacts they have provided and recommended, most of all they have improved the quality of the playing surfaces for the 1st team and u18s, and we are making longer term plans for further improvements to the training facility .There communication and professional team have been the biggest asset to us. Sports Turf Limited also provide us with back up and Ad Hoc works at our main stadium (Plough Lane) when required.
